Blue Caprice is a film about how the DC Snipers meet and their
relationship leading up to the shooting spree.
The film for me started off very slow but it did grab my
attention about a half hour before the end of the film. One thing I did not
like was how at the beginning of the film the young Lee Malvo had an accent at
one point of the film but for the rest of the film he did not, although it is
stated by Lee Malvo that John Muhammad taught him how to speak American; it’s
just something I did not like.
I felt Isaiah Washington’s performance was pretty good as
the psychopath John Allen Muhammad. He portrays a man who has lost custody of
his kids and his disappointment leads him to take his anger out on the world,
while he takes a vulnerable young man as his son and teaches him how to hate
like he does.
Tequan Richmond did an amazing job as the teen Lee Malvo who
was abandon by his mother because she had to work, and looks for some type of
parental guidance. He finds that guidance in John Allen Muhammad. His performance was very convincing and I loved
seeing him play a dark character.
To me the film was good enough to watch at least once. Out
of 10 I would give the film a 5.
